Tamsin Green, Lacan, relax (2015)

Tamsin Green is an artist and writer and educator based in Melbourne. She is currently a lecturer in the Art History and Theory program at Monash Art, Design and Architecture (MADA). Her practice, research, and teaching centre on screen cultures, with a focus on feminism, performance practice and aesthetic theory. She has taught across the theory program and into studio classes in undergraduate and higher degree programs. Tamsin’s visual practice incorporates a range of media, including installation, painting, photography and film. Recent solo exhibitions include Relax at Techno Park Studios, Coversat Bus Projects, and Designs at The Other Side. These three exhibitions drew links between art historical incidents in order to address gaps in representation. Tamsin’s work has been supported by grants from the Australia Council and The City of Melbourne. She has also received grants to support curatorial work, including co-founding Light Projects. Tamsin has participated in a number of residencies including an international residency with The Icelandic Association of Visual Artists (SIM) in Reykjavik, Iceland. Tamsin has published reviews and critical essays in Runway and un magazine. She is a current PhD candidate at MADA.
