ISM IS ISM ISN’T
-‘Ism’ is a suffix that forms a noun, denoting action or it’s result. Whilst questioning the meaning of words can be seen as a way of learning to understand multiple boundaries of meaning, it is also fraught territory. The discussion of ‘what femin(ism) is and femin(ism) isn’t’ becomes caught between multiple bodies and selves – yet it also has the potential to be a fluid and experiential questioning- an exercise in moving beyond the binary to new forms of political, social, personal meaning and experience.
