Jacqui Shelton is an artist working in Melbourne. In her work, Jacqui is particularly interested in the complications of performance and presence, and how voice, text, and image can collaborate or undermine one another. Recent local exhibitions include MADA Faculty Gallery, West Space, Metro Arts, Substation, Bus Projects, and Screen Space. She has recently produced performance projects in association with the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), Tarrawarra Museum, Liquid Architecture, TCB Art Inc., and Avantwhatever Festival, and was an artist in residence at NARS (New York City), Arts House (Melbourne) and the Bogong Centre for Sound Culture. She holds a PhD from Monash University where she lectures in photography.
